The New Division is an electronic indie band formed in 2008 in Riverside, California. Founding members John Glenn Kunkel and Michael Janz started experimenting with electronic music and live performances locally, later adding Brock Woolsey and Mark Michalski. Following the footsteps of acts such as New Order and Depeche Mode their sound blends 1980s synth-pop with contemporary electronic dance music. Additional influences include Royksopp, Deadmau5, Cut Copy, and Massive Attack.
